Airlines typically announce promotional schemes for travel during the June to September period, considered a lean season in travel industry. Discount offers help airlines increase load factors during that period.
SpiceJet’s anniversary sale is also applicable on some overseas routes, with tickets from Rs 2,111 (excluding statutory taxes and fees.)
For overseas travel, SpiceJet said that the offer is applicable on Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai and Muscat routes. For international travel, the sale is applicable on travel between June 1, 2016 and July 20, 2016.
Fares under the anniversary sale are refundable with only statutory taxes will be refunded, SpiceJet said.
Meanwhile, budget carrier AirAsia India also announced 50 per cent discount on return flights till May 18, for travel between August 1 and November 30.
