Modi Cabinet reshuffle: JP Nadda, Prakash Javadekar, Giriraj Singh to be dropped as ministers?
New Delhi: A report claimed on Wednesday that Health Minister JP Nadda, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and Minister of State in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh could be dropped from the Narendra Modi Cabinet which is likely to be reshuffled soon.
The report appeared in the prestigious Deccan Chronicle.
It said the results of the Assam Assembly Elections will also have an impact on the Cabinet reshuffle.
The results of the Assam Assembly Elections will be declared on Thursday, along with those of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
Nadda, Javadekar and Singh all three are expected to be drafted back to party work, said the report.
If BJP wins Assam as being predicted by the opinion/exit polls, Sports Minister (Independent Charge) Sarbanand Sonowal will become the CM there and his vacant berth in the Union Cabinet would also have to be filled.
The Narendra Modi government completes two years in office next week and it is under growing pressure to deliver on its promises.
The report said quoting sources that the Prime Minister’s Office is not happy with the performance of Nadda as health minister, while Javadekar is being seen as too soft for the sensitive portfolio of environment minister.
