Dear Dad: Cuts to the chase too quickly
The crucial moment does nothing for the viewer. It doesn’t shock, nor does it surprise you. It doesn’t move you, doesn’t make you feel any sympathy or empathy for the dad and the son. In fact, it feels too contrived, playing out like yet another one of the flavour of the season narratives, without any nuances or subtleties bolstering the representation. Read our review here.

Ko – 2: A change from macho-vigilante movies
Sarath’s Ko 2 — an in-name-only sequel that carries over only one character from the earlier film, Chief Minister Yogeeswaran (Prakash Raj) — borrows its premise from the Telugu film Prathinidhi, but Tamil viewers will instantly recall Cheran’s Desiya Geetham. The film also isn’t something you watch from the edge of your seat. This is a gentler vigilante movie. Think of it as a Shankar entertainer without the bombast. Read our review here.

After scoring music for the his movie, Theri, G.V.Prakash is back to acting with Pencil. This thriller revolves around the murder of a high school student.
