Jhabua blast accused Rajendra Kaswa arrested in Maharashtra

INDORE: Four days after the blast that ripped through a restaurant in Petlawad town of Jhabua district killing at least 100, police have arrested prime accused Rajendra Kaswa in Maharashtra, sources said.

After detaining wife Pramila, son Shubham and Daughter Sonia from Manpur near Indore on Tuesday night, a team had left for Maharashtra to nab Kaswa. His brothers Phoolchand and Narendra too were detained.

However, cops are neither accepting nor denying Kaswa’s arrest. He was booked by police under sections of Explosives Act and IPC section 304.

Police are likely to show Kaswa’s arrest in a couple of days, said sources. Meanwhile, police have arrested Dharmendra Rathore who provided explosives to Kaswa. Rathore was arrested from Badnawar of Dhar district. He possessed licence for storing explosives and had godown in village Choti Rahendi.

On last Saturday, a massive explosion had claimed at least 100 lives including women and children in Petlawad. A three-storey residential-commercial complex had turned into a graveyard after the explosion.

The explosion was triggered from stockpile of gelatin rods, urea, nitrogen-potassium and phosphorous stored inside a locked shop on Petlawad-Thandla highway.
