Sania -Soares Victory in US Open mixed Doubles

Sania Mirza (India) and Bruno Soares (Brazil) defeated Abigail (USA) and Santiago Gonazalez (Mexico) in the finals of US open by 6-1,2-6, 11-9.

Sania Mirza a proud Indian dedicated her victory to the country.She has captured her third Grand Slam mixed doubles title while her partner Soares , a second  timer.Mirza lifted the mixed double title earlier in 2009 at Australian Open and in 2012 at French Open. Mirza was described as “Daughter in law of Pakistan” , a month earlier and was said unfit to represent INDIA by some Hindu Nationalist Politician. Mirza, 27, is married to former Pakistan Cricket Captain, Shoaib Malik. She had broke down in tears after the aligations and had asked people that how many times does she needs to proove her love for the Country.

“I am very happy, it’s great to play and win with Bruno. For the first time we have played togather, it’s been great two weeks. I dedicates this victory to everyone there in INDIA, my country, and to the state of Telangana and the all people of Telangana” She said.” It’s a dream come true and hopefully many more to come.”

The controversary about her raised earlier when a BJP leader marked her as “Daughter -in-law of Pakistan and raised objection for the decesion for making her Brand Ambassador of the newly formed State of Telangana.
