4.1-magnitude quake epicentred in Haryana’s Jhajjar jolts Delhi, NCR region
New Delhi: A moderate earthquake jolted Delhi and parts of the national capital region (NCR) late on Saturday evening, causing some people to come out into the open.
The 4.1-magnitude tremor was felt for nearly two seconds in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.
The quake’s epicentre was in Jhajjar district in Haryana, the India Metrological Department (IMD) said.
Although the tremor was not of high intensity, it caused some people to come out into the open.
There were no immediate reports of any injury or damage from the quake.
Earlier in the day, an earthquake measuring 5.7 had hit Tanzania and was felt in nearby Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and Kenya, the US Geological Survey said.
