Bihar Earthquake: Centre sends Nadda, Ananth Kumar to oversee relief

Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Ananth Kumar have been deputed by the Centre to visit Bihar to take stock of relief and rescue efforts in the aftermath of Saturday’s earthquake.

Mr. Nadda and Mr. Ananth Kumar will visit quake-hit areas of Bihar, particularly the northern part of the State, and assess the situation there, official sources said.

The two Union ministers are expected to hold a meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and will take stock of the rescue and relief efforts.

Mr. Nadda and Mr. Ananth Kumar are likely to submit their report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the visit.

Bihar accounted for the highest casualties so far, 51 out of the 72 deaths, reported in India and there have been extensive damage to the houses and other properties in the State.
