Coast Guard Dornier aircraft goes missing near Puducherry coast

A Coast Guard aircraft with three crew members went missing while flying near Puducherry coast. There were two pilots and a navigator on board the German-made fixed wing aircraft when it went missing around 10 p.m. on Monday.

Eight ships and two aircraft of the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard were pressed into search and rescue operations in the area.

The aircraft took off from Chennai at 5:30 p.m. on Monday and lost contact at around 10 p.m.
