FIR filed against Karunanidhi, Stalin over DMK-AIADMK clash
CHENNAI: The Chennai city police booked DMK chief M Karunanidhi and his son MK Stalin and 500 others on charges of attacking a group of AIADMK cadres
near Gopalapuram on Saturday, immediately after a Bangalore court convicted party (AIADMK) supremo J Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case.
The Royapettah police booked cases under IPC sections 147 (punishment for rioting),
148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means)
336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) based on a complaint filed by two AIADMK cadres,
Ilangovan and Ganesan, who came under attack.
