Sania Mirza to receive Khel Ratna award today

Tennis star Sania Mirza will receive the Rajiv Khel Ratna award from the President of India in New Delhi on August 29, the National Sports Day.

Sania’s mother Nasima Mirza told that the tennis player had already arrived in New Delhi on Friday for the rehearsal of the awards programme at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

“She took time off before flying back to the US Open. There are no issues with the regard to court proceedings. Sania will receive it personally,” Nasima said.
