NDA has achieved more than what UPA could in 10 years, says PM Modi
The BJP parliamentary party passed a resolution Tuesday lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “infusing the much desired sense of purpose” in governance. Modi, meanwhile, said his NDA government has achieved more than what the UPA could in a decade and urged party MPs to “proudly” highlight them before the public when the government celebrates one year in office.
Modi, while addressing the party MPs at the parliamentary party meeting, said nothing can stop the government from initiating development in the country and that his fight is not against the Opposition but against those power-brokers who enjoyed the benefits of power and after being dejected are indulging in negative publicity of the government. He advised his party members not to be drawn into it.
A resolution, moved by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, said: “The BJP parliamentary party has commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for arresting the drift in governance by infusing the much desired sense of purpose and for improvising the governance architecture through cooperative federalism, for providing transparent and accountable governance and for enhancing the country’s standing and image among the international community.”
Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu explained the government’s six-pronged strategy for good governance — ensure social security to the vulnerable through welfare schemes, empower the youth skill development programme, attack poverty through economic growth, responsive governance through modernisation, cooperative federalism and dynamic foreign policy. Naidu observed that the Prime Minister is keen on ending the Delhi-based policy making and governance by replacing the “top down” approach with a “bottom up” approach, there by making states partners in policy making, designing and implementation
